小枝やウッドペレットなどを燃料にする小型の焚き火台（ウッドストーブ）をスウェーデントーチ風に使うための薪の置き方です。基本的に広葉樹の薪を使います。焚き火台のサイズにカットして使います。小枝等の燃料を使う場合よりも薪の追加がほぼ無く、長時間燃焼するので調理に便利です。冬場だと暖を取るのも兼ねる中型以上の焚き火台が便利ですが、暑い時期だと中型以上の焚き火台は使いたくないのでどうしても小さな焚き火台になります。
そんなことをするより、ガスや液体燃料のストーブの方が楽で便利なんですが、それは内緒。
広葉樹などの丸太や薪を焚き火台サイズにカットしたら、縦に四分割します。みんな大好きバトニングですね。ファイヤーボックス（Firebox）やブッシュボックス（Bushbox）のような縦型の四角い焚き火台には、薪の外皮が内側になるよう薪を配置します。四角い焚き火台の四隅に、薪の角がきれいに収まります。
ケリーケトルホーボーストーブ（Kerry kettle hobo stove）のような丸型の焚き火台には、そのまま配置します。どちらも中央部に空間を作り、そこに焚き付けを入れ火を付けます。四角い焚き火台の薪は外皮が内側なので、外皮を削ったりして火が付きやすいようする必要があります。そうしないと、まず、火は付きません。針葉樹を使う手もあります。
飯盒炊爨などのような、ご飯を炊く場合は火加減の調整が必要ですが、面倒くさいなら、沸騰してある程度したら飯盒などのクッカーを焚き火台から下ろし、焚き火台の真横で加熱させる方法もあります。
一番大変なのは、広葉樹を焚き火台のサイズにカットする作業です。英語で広葉樹をハードウッドというくらいですから、まぁとにかく硬いです。ノコギリでカットするの、大した直径ではない薪というか丸太でも汗だくになります。慣れてない人は、そこでギブしますね。間違いなく。ご年配の方にはおすすめしません。

This is how to place firewood to use twig stoves look like Swedish torches.
I basically use hardwood firewood. After cutting the firewood to the size of the twig stove, divide it into quarters lengthwise and place it.
In a vertical square twig stove like a Firebox or Bushbox, place the firewood so that the outer shell is on the inside. The corners of the firewood fit neatly into the four corners of the square twig stove.
In a round twig stove like the Kerry kettle hobo stove, the firewood that is divided vertically is placed as it is.
Both create a space in the center and put kindling in it and light it.
Square twig stove firewood has an inner shell, so you will need to scrape the outer shell to make it easier to catch fire. Otherwise, it will not catch fire in the first place. Another option is to use conifers.
Compared to using twigs, it requires almost no additional fuel and burns for a longer time, making it convenient for cooking.
It’s easier and more convenient to use a gas or liquid fuel stove than to do something like this, but I won’t tell you that.
